Life's too short for awful socks.

Soleberie began with a fairly simple question: why is it so difficult to find socks you genuinely love wearing?

I wasn't looking for socks that seemed nice in the packet and then lost their appeal after a few washes. I wanted a pair that felt really comfortable, stayed where it was supposed to, washed well and still looked good. The sort of socks you put on in the morning and then don't have to think about again.

After years of buying socks that never quite lived up to the promise, I stopped looking for the perfect pair and decided to make my own. That's how Soleberie started.

A slight obsession with socks

I wear socks almost every day, like most people. The difference is that I've probably spent far more time thinking about them than is entirely normal. Friends and family have listened politely to my opinions on socks for years. A few have suggested I might need another hobby.

But I have always been interested in everyday products and the difference good design makes. A great pair of socks gets on with the job. A bad pair can annoy you all day. They slide down, bunch up, feel scratchy, wear through too quickly or somehow manage to be too hot or too cold at the same time.

What I wanted to make

I wasn't trying to create a specialist sports sock or something you'd only wear with one particular outfit. I wanted a really good everyday sock: soft, comfortable and reliable, with enough substance to feel special but still practical enough to wear all the time.

The brief was simple. Make a sock I'd be genuinely pleased to find in the drawer in the morning.

Made properly in Portugal

Finding the right manufacturer mattered just as much as getting the design right. Soleberie socks are made in northern Portugal, in the heart of one of the country's best-known textile regions.

We chose to work with them because socks are what they do. They combine decades of experience with modern knitting technology and a very detailed approach to quality. That gave us the freedom to be particular about the things that matter: softness, fit, stretch, durability and how the finished sock feels when you pull it on.

What matters to Soleberie

Comfort comes first. After that, it has to be quality, usefulness and longevity. We want to make products that earn their place in your wardrobe rather than becoming another thing you regret buying.

Whether you're walking the dog, heading to work, spending the day at an outdoor show, travelling, tackling jobs in the garden or having a quiet Sunday at home, your socks should simply feel good and stay put.
